Louisville's 1300-room riverfront hotel's overhaul began in 2003. The first phase included the main hotel lobby, over 600 guest suites, the Grand Ballroom, meeting rooms, public spaces and fitness center. The second phase turned a former mundane, metal-roofed pedway into a conservatory housing a new hotel bar with lounge seating areas, a grab-and-go coffee and deli, and sundry shop. The final phase of the project updated the west tower standard guestrooms, main kitchen, 14,000+ square feet junior ballroom, three restaurants, and lounges.
